The central location is great
The Bowden Lodge is located in central Southport which makes it easy for you to explore the city without using your car. You can walk to dozens of restaurants, shops and bars from this locale as well as many of the city's popular tourist destinations.
positive:
This is a non-smoking hotel
The owners of this establishment prohibit smoking throughout the property. This is wonderful for those who do not imbibe and like to stay in a place that doesn't reek of second-hand smoke.
Negative Reviews
negative:
The car park is small
Although The Bowden Lodge Hotel does provide private, off-street parking, the car park is rather small. Although it can accommodate most of the vehicles that park there, when the hotel is full, you may have trouble finding a parking space and manoeuvring.
negative:
Some rooms are smaller than others
Some of the guest rooms here are rather small which could be problematic for those with a lot of luggage in tow or who are travelling with more than one person. If this is the case, be sure to request a larger room when you check-in or when you make your reservation.
negative:
There's no bar at the hotel
This hotel does not have a bar on premises which could be a drag if you want a quick night cap. Fortunately, the hotel does offer discounts for drinks served at a bar located just up the road, which is a pretty sweet deal.
