It's easy to relax here
Though they primarily host vacationers, this hotel is a popular sport for business travelers and other transient guests, who have found that the hot springs, and pool have the power to turn their otherwise boring trip into a mini-vacation. Just a quick five-minute soak was enough to relieve the day's stress for most travelers.
positive:
The staff will make you feel at home
Almost everyone who stayed at this mom and pop hotel agreed that the employees there are excellent. They go out of their way to make each guest's experience a positive one, greeting everyone warmly and accommodating special requests with a smile.
positive:
It's highly affordable
Guests found that the prices at Desert Hot Springs Spa Hotel were quite reasonable, especially compared to other spa hotels in the area.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Maybe a little too retro
While some guests loved the hotel's retro charm with it's 1970's décor and furnishings, others suspected the furnishings haven't been replaced since the 1970's. They noticed crumbling exteriors, arm chairs with the stuffing poking out, Jacuzzi jets that didn't work, and worn bedspreads, among other issues. The hotel hosts many repeat guests, who have made Desert Hot Springs Spa Hotel their family vacation spot for year, and unfortunately they, more than anyone, notice the deterioration.
negative:
There's no elevator
The two-story hotel does not have an elevator. This was an obstacle some guests were unprepared for, and they expressed annoyance over having to carry their luggage up and down the staircase.
negative:
It can get crowded
Desert Hot Springs Spa Hotel has just 50 rooms, and, according to guests who stayed there, seems to get more of their traffic from day-use patrons there for the spa, hot springs, and pool. It can sometimes get crowded in those areas, and a few hotel guests did not appreciated having to share the facilities with the day-use people.
