Positive Reviews
positive:
Friendly is the word.
There's a warm and friendly welcome from the front desk staff and there's quite a social atmosphere with, every week, a free social evening where you can meet everyone and they can meet you. The hotel is pet-friendly and welcoming to families.
positive:
Free as air - and well priced.
Just what the traveller needs; two washing machines and dryers. Both working and absolutely free! Pricing, generally, is very sensible and you are bound to leave knowing that you've received excellent value. Just like a hotel should be.
positive:
It's the business!
Accommodation is very spacious and lends itself to the possibility of extended stays; particularly useful for people visiting the area on business. There aren't many reasonably priced places where you can come ‘home' unwind, prepare a meal and relax in the swimming pool and hot tub. The hotel is run in a friendly but business-like manner. Public areas, inside and out, are immaculate. The pool sparkles and everywhere is so clean.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Taking a financial toll.
If you're heading for the bright lights of Houston, one good tip is to do your homework and avoid the toll roads. There are several and the costs can mount up. You'll need the car when visiting locally. There's nothing in the immediate vicinity that is within walking distance.
negative:
Debatable old school standards.
In keeping with this old school building, everything is huge. The room itself is spacious, the refrigerator is antique and enormous and so too is the air conditioner. Both are very noisy and drown out any potential street noise.
negative:
Missing breakfast.
You come here knowing that breakfast isn't part of the deal, but you miss it nevertheless.
