Raifskii Bogorodizkii muzhskoy monastyr (Kazan, Russia)

The Virgin Monastery of Raifa was founded in the 16th century but during the 18th century it was plundered and closed in 1918 and did not re-open again until the beginning of the 1990’s after being renovated in 1991. The church stands on the edge of a lake surrounded by forests . Entry to the church is free and a regular bus runs to it from Kazan.
