Monsoon Palace (Udaipur, India)

In 1883, Maharana Sajjan Singh ordonna la construction du Sajjangarh Palace, ou Monsoon Palace sur la montagne de Bansdara. Ce palais devait servir de palace d’été pour les Maharanas de Mewar, pour “regarder les nuages de la monsoon arriver”, puis pour donner du travail au habitants. Décédé avant la fin de sa construction, c’est le Maharana Fateh Singh qui termine son oeuvre. Le palais se situe a 5 kilomètres à l’ouest d’Udaipur. Le palais est fermé au public, mais de ses murs, on peut y apprécier une vue grandiose sur les collines de Aravalli, et les lacs d’Udaipur, Pichola, Fateh Sagar et Swaroop Sagar.
