Jumpers and Jazz in July (Warwick, Australia)

Warwick’s yarnbombing and jazz festival transforms the city’s CBD into a living gallery, with more than 100 handmade artworks installed on the bare winter trees. Inspirational and charming, yarnbombing warms the hearts of visitors even on cold winter days annually in July. Jumpers and Jazz in July began in 2004 and eleven years later has expanded into a ten day art and jazz musical festival, with a program that embraces the season chill and highlights country hospitality, running from July 16 to 26 in 2015. Visitors enjoy live outdoor and indoor jazz performances by some of Southern Queensland’s most popular jazz musicians, to the backdrop of colourful knitted art and cosy winter fires. Highlights include: streets become ablaze with vibrant, decorative and clever ‘winter coated’ trees; yarnbombed surprises around every corner; art/craft markets in winter sunshine; grand historic car display; warming drinks, dinners and jazz with the city’s best restaurants and cafes; multiple art and textile exhibitions in traditional and unusual spaces; and the exceptional and inspirational talents of international and local artists on display!
