Burren Slow Food Festival Week & Weekend (Lisdoonvarna, Ireland)
This year’s Burren Slow Food Festival Week & Weekend will take place from 16 to 24 May 2015 in different gorgeous locations in the Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark area leading up to the Burren Slow Food Festival Weekend on 23 & 24 May 2015 in Lisdoovnarna, Co. Clare. The week long festival activities will be organised by the members of the Burren Ecotourism Network (burren.ie), food producers, chefs and restaurants. Events for the whole family will be held by members of the Burren Ecotourism Network during the festival week (16 - 22 May). The events will offer a wide range of activities, from visiting a goats’ farm, a free range pork farm, kayaking in Ballyvaughan Bay, foraging walks on the shore, nature walks and flying demos of birds of prey, music and much more. A visit to the very beautiful settings like Kilshanny House and Gregans Castle Hotel can offer an experience to some very different styles of dining. “Land & Sea”, and every kind of food provided by them is this year’s festival theme. We are very excited to announce that three famous Michelin-starred chefs – Derry Clarke from L’Ecrivain (Dublin), Ross Lewis from Chapter One (Dublin), and JP McMahon from Anair (Galway) will be making a much anticipated appearance at the festival weekend. Other than a line-up of high profile speakers covering various interesting topics, the high standard of Ireland’s foods and crafts, and many culinary stands will be showcased by a farmers market leaving the visitor happy and satisfied.
