Positive Reviews
positive:
Excellent dinners.
Restaurant 1650 has a reputation as being a fantastic eatery on its own, and for good reason. The meals served at Ye Olde Bell are fresh and prepared using local ingredients, and all derived from traditional English foods and favourites. The addition of a bar with craft ales heightens the experience.
positive:
Gorgeous interiors.
Ye Olde Bell's claim to fame, in many regards, is its attention to detail and inclusion of beautiful historic pieces. There are a number of restored antique sofas, chairs, and beds throughout the inn, and you'll be amazed by its sheer charm upon entering.
positive:
Contemporary comforts.
The Wi-Fi signal at Ye Olde Bell is surprisingly strong, and the television has a great range of channels and programmes. Although most of the beauty at the inn is in the surrounding gardens and villages, these modern room enhancements are great for evening relaxation.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Sparse amenities.
In many rooms, you won't receive as many towels, linens, or other supplies as you need for the duration of your stay. You can easily remedy this with a quick call to the front desk, but more amenities should be provided for guests upon check-in.
negative:
Occasional meal shortages.
Because the restaurant and bar use fresh products for their breakfasts and dinners, they sometimes run out of popular ingredients, and you may need to alter your order. This isn't a massive issue, but can be troublesome if you're on a strict diet or meal plan.
negative:
Constant guest traffic.
Ye Olde Bell's reputation for quality and service leads to a lot of reservations and guests passing through the inn, and as a result, you may find that the premises and building are more crowded than is ideal for a tranquil stay.
