Positive Reviews
positive:
Feel like a Rockefeller
If you want to travel back to the days of opulence and glory, then book a room in this hotel. The suites are large, lush, and fully of forgotten luxury. The details that are throughout the hotel are those that today's hotels just don't have. Staying here, and having a room that looks up to the historic dome, is a unique life experience, not just a typical overnight stay.
positive:
So much to do
There is so much to do at this hotel, and the sister one, French Licks Resort, that a guest will have a hard time finding the time to sleep. There are dozens of restaurants, many golf courses and other sporting facilities, plus an amazing stable. The grounds of the property are stunning and there are both historic and architectural tours. Guests can also try a hand at gambling or relax in the spas.
positive:
First class, all the way
Guests can expect first-class amenities and features here, from the complimentary valet parking to the Starbucks coffee, quality restaurants, and luxury robe in each guest room.
Negative Reviews
negative:
It's not a resort
While the hotel might look like a resort, it functions as a hotel. There are no free services or amenities, other than parking and WiFi. Guests can look forward to paying hefty bills all around the resort.
negative:
It's all about the looks
The staff, from wait staff right up to management, are more concerned with appearance's sake than the pleasure of guests. Customer service is more of an afterthought. Guests will have long waits, unanswered questions, and unresolved complaints.
negative:
Blame it on technology
There are a host of computer problems when guests check-in and leave the resort. Arriving guests are often disappointed to discover that room reservations are changed, and often downgraded, without notice. Departing guests are often surprised to discover hidden fees and charges on the bill for services not rendered.
