Hotel Big Splash Adventure Indoor Waterpark & Resort (French Lick, USA)

This hotel is a good bet, for families with teens and even those with the littlest folk. There are multiple pools, a lazy river, and water slides. The park has lots to do and shallow water areas. It's easy to see the whole family from the lounging deck area.

The room rates include entrance to the park, with different rates for those who only want day passes. The rates can include longer stays and multiple days of play. Each room rate also includes a breakfast buffet and tickets to other activities.

The park stays open year round and makes a nice winter retreat. The ceiling retracts on some days, making the whole space feel tropical. Also, the hotel is very amenable to those with large groups, offering meeting rooms and other services, such as catering.

The park gets a lot of visitors and seems to find it necessary to dose them all with loads of chemicals. The smell is so heavy that younger children and those with breathing problems can have issues breathing easily or enjoying the water park. The water is also really cold.

The food here isn't all that great, either at the breakfast buffet or at any of the restaurants. Most of the food choices are heavily fried. Expect long waits to dine and small dining areas.

There is really no comparison to the name brand choice, Great Wolf Lodges. This hotel is an off-brand for a reason. The park is smaller, lightly staffed, and has fewer water rides. Some amenities are located offsite.
