Positive Reviews
positive:
Fantastic breakfast
The breakfasts at this hotel consistently get a big thumbs up from guests. The breakfast menu has all the traditional British favourites on there (including boiled egg and soldiers!) so you will not lack for choice. It has to be said that the food in general is well-rated at this gastro pub, so you can expect a tasty meal no matter what time of the day you choose to eat.
positive:
Beautifully decorated and maintained rooms
This hotel is a refurbished Victorian tavern, and guests are
united in saying what a fine job the owners have made of the renovation. All
rooms are said to be beautifully decorated, with good, modern facilities. Your
stay should be a comfortable one.
positive:
Private parking available
Unusually for a London hotel - even one in Greater London -
free parking is available. Be warned though - you will need to pre-book the
parking, as there are only a limited number of spaces available.
Negative Reviews
negative:
No lift
As you might expect with a very old building, the modern
layout is dictated by the original design and layout. For this reason, there is
no space for a lift in this building which means that if you suffer from any
mobility issues the stairs might be a struggle.
negative:
Reports of some external noise
Though the internal sound-proofing is for the most part
described as good and effective, some guests have reported excessive noise from
time to time coming from the busy roads that pass by this hotel.
negative:
No kettle for your tea
Tea and coffee facilities are available in every room. However,
if you want tea you need to warm your water up using the coffee machine
provided. This is considered less than ideal than some guests.
