Positive Reviews
positive:
Fabulous location for seeing London
Exploring the city is convenient and easy, when staying at Griffin House. Tube stations are close by, and there's plenty of sites immediately within walking distance. This is a really great lodging choice for business travellers, students, backpackers, and anyone else who want to spend their time out and about.
positive:
Decent accommodations for breakfast and a bed
These aren't luxury accommodations, which is just fine for economic travellers. If you're just looking for somewhere simple to sleep at, and have a handy breakfast, then this is perfect. It doesn't disappoint much, since it doesn't try to be something it's not.
positive:
Nothing else positive about this hotel
So far, no other positive opinion has been expressed by the guests about this hotel
Negative Reviews
negative:
No soundproofing at all
Bring ear plugs if staying here, since there's seemingly no layer of insulation between the rooms or on the windows. Pretty much every considerable sound travels, and if you're a sensitive sleeper, you're likely to hear street and traffic noise.
negative:
Housekeeping should be better
Rooms and common areas could use better attention to cleaning. Stains, worn furnishings, drab décor, chipped paint, and tattered carpets detract from the ambience. Towels and upkeep are not always refreshed as promptly either.
negative:
Inconsistent room and shower temps
Temperatures are not always consistent, or in balance with the outside. Rooms can be too hot, too cold, or not hot or cold enough. Showers also fluctuate, with poor pressure at times, and an inability to set and keep it the way you would prefer.
