Positive Reviews
positive:
Location ticks plenty of boxes
Numerous travellers have been won over by this hotel's handy location, set as it is within such easy reach of both the metro and the Tokaido ‘Bullet Train' Line. Being just a few metro stops away from buzzing Umeda was deemed a big plus, as was having a good selection of decent, non-touristy eateries around the hotel.
positive:
Attentive receptionists provide exemplary service
In addition to being very approachable and persistently cheery, many visitors have reported that the pro-active team at reception are also very effective when it comes to dealing with issues and getting things done.
positive:
Nice and peaceful at night
A significant number of travellers really appreciated the lack of noise around the hotel's immediate vicinity. Indeed, most guests said that, aside from the odd tipsy Japanese salary man, they were disturbed very little at night.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Guestrooms and bathrooms are just too small
The vast majority of guests who've stayed here have said they thought the bedrooms — and the bathrooms within them — are just too compact to be truly functional. Guests travelling with others (couples, in the main) tended to be the most frustrated.
negative:
Dated interiors need modernising
It is fair to say very few travellers have been bowled over by the aesthetic charm of the hotel's somewhat dated interiors. Indeed, most guests agreed that the general vibe of the hotel was stuck somewhere around the mid-1980s.
negative:
Poor air-conditioning facilities
Many visitors have reported a great deal of dissatisfaction with the in-room air-conditioning controls. Evidently, you can only set the temperature to low, medium or high, and much of the time the overall temperature is configured to operate solely within parameters set by the hotel's own seasonal settings.
