Positive Reviews
positive:
Exceptional location.
Many guests would return to the Sejong based on the location. If you are looking for a hotel in the middle of the action, and close to public transportation, this Myeong-dong hotel can't be beat. Enjoy panoramic views of Namsan mountain and downtown Seoul before shopping until you drop right outside the hotel door.
positive:
Space for large groups.
Traveling with friends or extended family? The Sejong offers triple rooms with one double and two single beds. Perfect for families with older kids, or friends who can't get enough of each other and don't want to break the bank, these spacious rooms include ample room for suitcases and souvenirs. Guests were happy to find an unconventional room option.
positive:
Renovated rooms in character building.
Enjoy the slick layout and modern amenities of rooms at the Sejong, coupled with an older building that retains Korean charm. While some guests commented on the older outside appearance of the hotel, many appreciated that it wasn't a chain hotel with cookie-cutter looks. Guests can even enjoy a traditional Korean experience in an Ondul room, sleeping Korean-style on mats heated from the floor.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Questionable housekeeping at times.
It seems some cleaning staff are better than others at the Sejong. While many guests were happy with the cleanliness of their rooms, others felt the need to complain. Towels and sheets needing a little extra attention were among some of the issues.
negative:
Unreliable air-conditioning
During the sweltering summers of Seoul, air-conditioning is at the top of many room priority lists. However, some guests found themselves in hot rooms with nary a working air-conditioner in sight. Guests were pleased to report that their discomfort didn't fall on deaf ears, but could have happily done without the heat.
negative:
Some rooms on the small side.
Those booking standard rooms might find themselves without a lot of breathing room, especially in bathrooms that also include a bidet. Many guests found rooms to be an acceptable size for an Asian hotel, while others wished for a bit more space.
