While guests did not bring up the question of value for money very often, a number did mention that the room rate they received here was one of the lowest they could find in the area, making the hotel a cheap place to get a roof over their head.

On the whole, guests were very pleased with the location of the hotel. They reported that there were a number of convenient shops and restaurants within walking distance and that the University of Florida campus was also very nearby.

Going by the reviews, it seems guests were very happy with the staff at the hotel. They said that they offered a warm welcome on arrival and were both friendly and helpful during the course of their stay.

This was perhaps the most common, and most serous, complaint. Guest after guest complained that the rooms weren’t merely out of date, and so aesthetically unappealing, but that they had damage and maintenance issues that affected their functionality as well.

A number of guests complained that the room walls were “paper thin”. They said that they could easily hear even normal sounds like people talking or a TV playing at regular volume, from adjacent rooms and the hallway.

Though most guests conceded that they were not major issues, the volume of complaints indicating a guest’s room had at least one or two cleanliness issues was a bit worrying. It seems that reasonable cleanliness standards are not diligently adhered to.
