Motel Airport Motor Inn (Winnipeg, Canada)

This simple motel is just a couple of miles away from Winnipeg’s international airport. For departing guests – especially those on early flights out of the city – this location proved to be extremely handy. Likewise, those arriving into Winnipeg were relieved to find a comfortable bed in such close proximity to the airport.

The renovations to this hotel’s exterior and lobby haven’t gone unnoticed, with repeat guests taking the time to comment positively on the changes.

This property was also popular with those passing through the region on long-haul journeys, many of whom commented that this basic hotel offered good value for a single night’s stay.

There were consistent reports of rowdy, drunken behaviour at this hotel. Guests were alarmed and dismayed by this, with many feeling that this created a seedy, uncomfortable atmosphere. The persistent and strong smell of alcohol and stale smoke was also noted throughout the building.

Lack of in-room climate control – both in terms of heating and air conditioning – was an on-going issue here. This made for some very uncomfortable stays, with guests freezing during the depths of winter and sweating it out in high summer. Additionally, many were annoyed to find that this property does not supply soap or toiletries to guests.

By all accounts, the walls here are paper thin. Many reported being disturbed by noise from adjacent units, a point that only exacerbated the seedy atmosphere in terms of the overall guest experience.
