Macleay Hotel (Sydney, Australia)

Although some guests note that the rooms at the Macleay are a little dated, most find them clean and comfortable regardless. The selection of amenities is also appreciated. Those guests who benefitted from a balcony and/or a view are particularly pleased with the standard of the accommodation.

Guests note the choice of bars and restaurants in the immediate area. If you want to explore further afield, a stroll through the Botanic Gardens alongside the harbour leads to the Opera House and Circular Quay. Those who prefer not to walk have access to King Cross station, as well as ample buses.

Guests are almost unfailingly impressed by the staff at the Macleay, with many noting how friendly and welcoming the team is. Those guests who were visiting with children mention that the staff were very accommodating and patient with younger guests.

Several reviews indicate that there is some disappointment with the hotel's parking facility, namely that it is so cramped you would struggle to park anything but the smallest of cars. Of course, this won't be an issue if you don't bring a car but is something to keep in mind if you drive a large vehicle.

While most guests were able to access the Internet without encountering any serious problems, some mention that they were continually logged out while online. This sort of thing can get frustrating quickly.

This hotel doesn't seem to be excessively noisy but that's not to say the soundproofing is faultless. A number of guests mention being disturbed by the sound of other guests in nearby rooms. Plus, a little traffic noise may be heard.
