Positive Reviews
positive:
Shanghai Central
This modern hotel is conveniently located only a short walk from the Shanghai city centre, and Line 1 of the Metro. There are also many great restaurants in the immediate area, and a convenience store right across the street. For shopping, guests highly recommend visiting the famous shopping street in Nanjing, also within walking distance from the hotel.
positive:
Cash In, Currency Out
Guests really liked the vending machines at the hotel, which not only serve a variety of drinks and snacks, but also exchange currency! The ATM-like technology can be a bit confusing to use at first, but very convenient and easy once you figure it out.
positive:
Clean & Comfy
According to reviews, guests were quite happy with the accommodations provided. The rooms are described as spacious and clean, while the beds are said to very comfortable. Some of the rooms also boast pretty views of the river, and guests recommend asking for one if you have the chance.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Poorly Professional
Customer service could be improved at this hotel. Guests weren't too pleased with how the staff handled problems or requests. The staff seems to be mildly reluctant to help, and the language barriers can be an issue as well.
negative:
Dark Alleys
Guests didn't like walking back to the hotel late at night, because the streets surrounding the hotel are small and poorly-lit. While the area is not dangerous, guests didn't feel comfortable in the circumstances.
negative:
Mediocre Meals
Most guests weren't big fans of the breakfast, which serves limited western fare, but plenty of local dishes. However, the food is not the best quality. In addition, it is recommended that you get there early, as items don't get refilled much.
