The decor is charming and evokes sentimental feelings, which makes this hotel ideal for family celebrations, although it’s also suitable for business meetings. The surrounding green grounds with ample wildlife including deer and rabbits add to the charm.

The staff members have been described as friendly, helpful and professional, willing to go the extra mile to help. The service staff has been appreciated, as have the staff members who organise functions such as weddings. With its old world charm and country house feel, the hotel is indeed a popular choice for marriage and family celebrations. The staff cares a lot for the particular needs of guests, particularly with regard to food allergies.

The hotel’s location in the north of the city is convenient for those who have relatives studying or teaching in the University of Western Ontario, as well as those who need to visit the university hospital.

It has been mentioned a lot recently that although the hotel is indeed charming with a pleasant atmosphere, it is in fact growing dated and is in need of refurbishment. While period decor is so much more suited to this property than modern, it is felt that some work is required to restore the shiny, new look to the hotel.

Although the restaurant is considered to be very good, it can be hired for private functions, which sometimes means that the hotel guests have to find somewhere else to eat.  This is not always convenient.

Noise of other guests can be heard from the above and adjoining rooms, which can disturb sleep if one is sensitive to noise.
