positive:
Clean and well presented rooms
Although a few guests mention that the exterior of this hotel looks tired, very few comment similarly about the individual rooms. Most find the accommodation is clean and well presented with a sufficient if not extensive selection of amenities.
positive:
Convenient location
Although this hotel may not be suitable if you prefer to stay in the city centre, many guests consider its location as convenient to their needs. There's a restaurant adjacent to the hotel and a bus stop offering direct services into York within a two-minute walk.
positive:
Budget-friendly hotel
Many guests comment favourably about the value for money offered at the Travelodge York Hull Road, describing the rates as some of the lowest in the area. There's ample free parking, although you'll pay extra for extended Wi-Fi access (nominal fee each day). Plus, guests note that the food at the adjacent Black Bull restaurant is reasonably priced.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Poor water pressure for showers
A number of guests mention that although they were otherwise happy with their room, the water pressure for the showers was weak. Some guests also comment that they found the hot water was limited.
negative:
Some internal noise issues
Although external noise is very rarely mentioned, reviews indicate that the internal soundproofing could be better. Guests mention being able to hear other people in rooms adjacent to and above their own. Plus, some comment that they heard doors banging repeatedly.
negative:
A little too basic for some
Make no mistake that this is a budget hotel and, as such, there is a very limited set of on-site facilities.Beyond an early check-in and late check-out (which you'll pay extra for), there's very little on offer. In particular, some guests were disappointed by not being to enjoy a sit-down buffet breakfast.
