Perfect base for touring downtown Wilmington
The Wilmingtonian is in a great section of the city, where it's easy to get to many attractions and places on foot. Museums, shopping, cafes, and trolley and boat tours are close by, with plenty of other popular and exciting sites within short driving distances.
positive:
Character and charm instead of standard room decor
One of the hotel's most appealing characteristics are the quaint rooms that aren't your typical cookie cutter furnishings. This adds to the overall charm of the buildings and echoes the attraction many have for the location and historical flavor. .
positive:
Southern hospitality for human and dog guests
Staff fully display Southern hospitality with their friendliness, politeness, and attentiveness. They see to it that every guest has a comfortable and happy stay, whether you're traveling alone, with other people, or with your dog. You're surrounded by gracious manners that hope you return for future vacations. .

The décor could use some updating and refreshing
Not everyone is impressed or satisfied with the unique ambience in the rooms. To some, it's considered too old fashioned and past its prime, and long overdue for a makeover. Brighter paint, shinier and better fixtures, fresher linens and carpeting, and more modern looking furnishings would make it more attractive. .

Would have been better with onsite dining facility
The complimentary breakfast isn't very appealing, and could be presented and prepared much better. Perhaps if there was a restaurant and/or bar onsite, breakfast would be better. Despite some rooms having kitchens, it would still be nice to have full dining options right there. .
negative:
Thin walls and squeaky furniture disrupt quiet
Keep in mind that the walls are thin, and the furniture is older, and thus noisy. You are likely to hear guests, as they are likely to hear you. .
