Hotel The Westin San Diego Bayview (San Diego, USA)

Many popular San Diego spots are within walking distance of the hotel, such as Little Italy and Gaslamp Quarters. Santa Fe depot and Broadway Pier are only two blocks away, providing easy public transportation to places like Sea World and the San Diego Zoo. Guests also appreciated the complimentary airport shuttle service.

Guests were very impressed with the service they received at The Westin San Diego. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate the needs and requests of their guests. Repeat guests were particularly pleased to find that the staff kept their preferences on file and were able to put them in the best room for them without any prompting.

Previous guests were fond of The Westin's trademarked Heavenly Beds, which feature a pillow top mattress that contours to the shape of the sleeper. Several reviews also remarked that the pillows were exceptionally comfortable.

Though the hotel does offer complimentary Wi-Fi access in the lobby, there is a daily charge to access the Wi-Fi network from the guestrooms. This appalled many guests. They felt The Westin was "nickel and diming" them, and that for the rates they were paying for their room the price should include Wi-Fi. Many also pointed out that for such a modern hotel, the practice of charging for internet access felt dated.

Guests were disappointed with the size of the swimming pool. Many were not able to enjoy it because it was constantly overcrowded. They felt that its size was insufficient, given the size of the hotel.

Some guests felt that, while there was nothing terribly wrong with their stay, the amount of money they paid for it wasn't quite in line with the experience they received in exchange.
