Charming building, friendly owners.
The Old Rectory is a perfect example of the Victorian Gothic architectural style and there are many original features throughout the shared spaces and private rooms that really add to the experience of staying here. The owners are friendly and happy to share their knowledge of the history of the property as well as the town of Lacock.
positive:
Clean, traditional rooms.
Rooms are traditionally decorated to suit the building and are very clean and well-maintained. The furnishings are traditional and the beds reasonably comfortable. Rooms are quite spacious and the original architecture is evident throughout.
positive:
Ideal location.
The location of the Old Rectory is ideal for an easy and pleasant walk into the centre of Lacock. The medieval town is filled with interesting historical points of interest as well as a few very nice restaurants and pubs, after which one can easily walk back to the rectory without the need to spend additional money on taxi cabs.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Insufficient Wi-Fi quality.
Business travellers should be aware that the Wi-Fi quality at the Old Rectory is not sufficient for business purposes, with almost no signal present in the rooms and very little in common areas.
negative:
Not all en-suites.
Not all the guest rooms on the property feature en-suite bathroom facilities as some only offer shared private bathrooms. Sharing a bathroom or having to leave ones room to go to a bathroom across a hall is something that some may find unacceptable or inconvenient.
negative:
No pets or small children permitted.
The B&B does not allow any children under the age of six to stay on the property and also does not allow guests to bring their pets along with them.
