Handy Duke Location
This is the closest hotel to Duke University campus and Medical Centers out of many possibilities. Very convenient to both east and west parts of campus. There's a free shuttle bus on-site, a handy gym, business center and complimentary coffee and fruit is provided (sometimes) in the reception area. Parking area is ample with great lighting. Breakfast and lunch are served on-site in the restaurant and there are plenty of nearby alternatives as well. Clean and casual.

Standard Rooms
Most rooms are fairly basic, but with all the expected features. Bathrooms are modern and clean in most and televisions with entertainment extras are superb.

Staff Sets the Vibe
Staff is friendly, helpful and charming here - which definitely makes up for any low points you may experience. Housekeeping is fastidious, the front desk team is efficient and the in-house chef is divinely-skilled. Kudos!
Negative Reviews
negative:
The New and the Old
When booking, ask about which building you're reserving. There's a new, upgraded building and an older one - and some haven't received their preference due to confusion on booking sites. Some rooms may have a musty smell, noisy air conditioners, windows that don't open, outdated decor and sparse furnishings. Get clarity on your room's features before paying if possible.
negative:
Overpriced for the Provisions
Although it is handy to Duke, you may find the place underwhelms you for the price. Even with medical rates and other discounts applied, some haven't felt the value. Look around.
negative:
Breakfast Costs Extra
There's no free breakfast like you'd expect - it's served on-site, but you must pay for it in the restaurant.
