Positive Reviews
positive:
Easy access from airport.
MARTA is not just an old Arthur Tracy song (*'rambling rose of the wild wood'); it's also the train from the airport. Take it to North avenue Station and then take the 102 bus service to the hotel. Or, from North Street, call an uber/lyft. Couldn't be easier.
positive:
Free of frills, but with traditional thrills.
Many will see The Highland Inn as being basic. There's no elevator, room service etc; but bags of character and genuinely friendly service. It depends what you're looking for!
positive:
Hello cupcake!
One of the secrets of The Highland Inn is that, whilst it doesn't pretend to cater for every conceivable need, most of them are in the immediate vicinity! For example, there's a super café next door, with outdoor seating and just a bit further along the road is a yummy cupcake shop!

negative:
Up the 'creak'!
It's best to get a top floor room. This is an old building and the floorboards above you ... creak! The car park is a breeding ground for noisy car alarms at all times of the day and night.
negative:
Fine for Lilliputians.
Rooms are small; so too are the bathrooms and all that goes in them. Beds are comfortable, but not enormous and in all honesty, everything is here ... but limited in size. The only thing that isn't small is the number of Atlanta taxes on hotel rooms. Watch out for those, not so little, extras.
negative:
Lack of air circulation.
There's no air circulation at all in the bathroom, so everything steams up and is liable to damp and mold. Air conditioning, generally, is ineffective and only slightly better than nothing.
