Guests consistently rate the breakfast at the Gables as excellent, so it does seem that you can look forward to a satisfying start to your day. Guests also praise the other meals, with the option to dine in either the bar or the restaurant appreciated. Some guests found the dishes a little old-fashioned with limited vegetarian options, but there doesn't appear to be any other issues.

Perhaps above all else, guests are complimentary about the welcome and overall standard of service offered here. Reviews indicate that John and Dorcas, the owners, are very much involved and engage well with guests. Plus, the bar and restaurant staff is friendly too.

Although this hotel is rather old-fashioned, guests do mention that the selection of facilities is rather good. Being able to eat and drink on-site is convenient. Plus, guests appreciate the free Wi-Fi and parking.

Although guests generally find the rooms are reasonably comfortable, they are very old-fashioned. The decor is odd and consists of various clashing colours and patterns and the furniture is sometimes described as looking like it's straight out of a junk store.
