Positive Reviews
positive:
Value for money.
The accommodation is good; comfortable and attractively furnished. Linen is clean, air-con works and the kitchen is OK with a full quota of crockery and other essentials. Yes, some things could be better, but just take a look at that tariff. Good value, at these prices!
positive:
Avoiding a ‘pickle’ with Branston’s heavy traffic.
The hotel is quiet and in quite a good location for getting straight into the uptown district. *You’ll be in a ‘pickle’, otherwise, with the horrendous Branston traffic. This good location really is a very positive factor.
positive:
A ‘staff bonus’.
Members of staff are very friendly and helpful. Always a bonus in any hotel.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Few accolades at the Colonnade.
It’s ‘curtains’ for a number of aspects in this Theatre District hotel. A Wi-Fi free hotel is unheard of in today’s climate, but not here. At its very best, Wi-Fi is appalling. The pool – a reason to stay in any hotel – seems to be out of service more often than not.
negative:
Lack of breakfast is tip of the iceberg!
They advertise the availability of breakfast but, come the morning, it’s nowhere to be found. They really shouldn’t advertise the service, if they don’t want to provide it. Breakfast, or the lack of it, is just one of a number of issues. The hotel is close to the Titanic Museum … and look what happened to that!
negative:
High pressure selling – but no substance.
Time share salesmen are round every corner, eager to sell you a slice of paradise. No! No! … there’s no pool available, no breakfast and no hot tub. Inside the room, there are even more ‘no’s … in the form of no fridge, no microwave, no housekeeping … and ultimately, no reason to invest!
