Hotel the b akasaka-mitsuke (Tokyo, Japan)

A great many guests loved the fact that this hotel is set right in the heart of the lively Akasaka district with loads of restaurants, shops, bars and entertainment venues very close by. Being within a hop, skip and jump of a well-connected train station was also considered a major plus.

If you're concerned that staying in such an energetic area will keep you awake during the early hours then don't fret: the vast majority of visitors who've stayed here have reported they heard very little in the way of street noise during the night.

Numerous guests have sung the praises of the industrious and ever-so-pleasant personnel here. The helpful receptionists, with their unflappable demeanour and impressive English language skills garnered the most plaudits.

Unsurprisingly, all of the rooms here live up to the reputation Japanese hotels have for offering tiny accommodations. What irked many guests staying here though is that the rooms in this hotel have hardly any storage facilities at all.

A significant number of visitors have been less-than-impressed by the comfort of the beds in the accommodations. Evidently, hard mattresses and soft pillows aren't for everyone.

With no designated luggage room, guests often found that their left luggage was stored next to the reception desk in full view of everyone. Suffice to say, very few visitors were impressed by this.
