The hotel is centrally located in Zone 1, has good transport connections and many attractions are within walking distance. Notting Hill Gate underground station is 1-minute walk away and services the Central, Circle, District and Hammersmith and City lines. Walking through Hyde Park, you can reach the Royal Albert Hall, V&A Museum and the Natural History Museum in 30-minutes. Kensington Gardens and the Portobello Road Market are within walking distance.

Negative Reviews
negative:
No lift service.
The hotel is spread over five floors, and typical for an 19th century building, there is no lift service. If stairs are an issue, it’s advised to book a room on one of the lower floors.
negative:
In need of a refurbishment.
Not all guests found the hotel charming or cosy. Some guests described the hotel as shabby and complained about threadbare carpets, peeling wall paper, cracks in the ceiling, old and worn furnishings in the rooms. At times the Wi-Fi connection was also reported to be slow.
negative:
No air conditioning.
The hotel is not equipped with air conditioning. Most of the year this is unlikely to pose a problem, however in warm weather guests found that the rooms became a little hot and stuffy.
