The Mission Inn is in a location close to Universities and Museums in Santa Clara. It forms a good choice of accommodation to tourists wanting to explore the city and its many attractions. Museums like De Saissest Museum, Edward Peterman Museum of Railroad History and Civic Center Park are close by and the Santa Clara University is less than a kilometer. Additionally it is around just three miles from the Santana Row shopping center.

The 43 simple rooms are air conditioned and provided with televisions with premium channels, DVD players and tea or coffee makers. Additions like microwaves and refrigerators are present. Complimentary newspaper is supplied every day. Desks, ironing facilities and hair dryers are other amenities present in the rooms. Some rooms feature Jacuzzis.

The hotel has a business center and a 24 hour front desk. A lobby where guests can lounge with the day's newspaper and coffee or tea provided is present. Guests can make use of the laundry and dry cleaning facilities of the hotel for a fee. A continental breakfast is included.

The rooms are rather dirty and have a musty smell. Faint smoke smells are experienced even in the non smoking rooms. The furnishings appear old and dated. Lighting is not appealing. Beds are hard and sheets are rough.

The desk staff is rude and inefficient. Rooms are not ready at the arrival time of the guests and they have to wait unduly. Members of the staff are argumentative and not clear about requests for early Check-ins, so guests who have made the request have to wait, sometimes as long as five hours in their car.

The Wi-Fi connection is close to being non-existent as it is very slow and sporadic.
