The Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom in the heart of Austria's capital is an art hotel designed and decorated by some notable names such as architect Jean Nouvel and Swiss artist Pipilotti Rist. Many guest reviews speak very appreciatively of the starkly modern black and white interiors of the rooms and the avant garde décor. The bar with the painted ceiling is described as a must visit by several guests.

The staff and the level of hospitality experienced by guests are of a generally high quality. There is great attention to detail and the staff is both attentive and helpful.

Guests reviews are very appreciative of the interiors, the facilities in the hotel and the rooms, the modern fixtures, the comfort levels of the room appliances and the bathroom. While the stark interiors of the Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom have inspired great admiration in some guests, others felt the opposite, saying that the black walls felt like the inside of a warehouse.
