The B&B area is a lovely residential community with tree-lined streets. You are five minutes away from the subway and a twenty-minute ride from Manhattan. You will find some hip restaurants and bars and other attractions like the Brooklyn Museum. There is definitely enough to enjoy in the B&B area.
Be sure to check-out the Friday and Saturday night jazz sessions. You can get acquainted with some cool jazz musicians who have worked with varioius jazz legends. You can also enjoy a delicious fried fish dinner served between sets and as a lodger at the B&B get in for half price.
The B&B owner will make you feel right at home as she chats about the neighbourhood and the B&B's history, while offering good advice about places to go in the area. Her cheerful personality is certainly contagious. The historical B&B décor is filled with genuine charm with original décor topped with a few modern upgrades. Better security would be helpful. You can't lock your room, which is not too comforting with your valuables inside. There is no fire alarm or sprinkler system in case of fire. In addition, the owner though lovely, should be present more often.
More power outlets in the room would be helpful. The lighting is too dim leaving the rooms with a somewhat dreary ambiance. The Wi-Fi is questionable.
You might or might not get the opportunity to enjoy a special breakfast. You may find yourself with a box of cereal, milk, and a bit of fruit.
