Positive Reviews
positive:
Excellent restaurant fare.
The dishes served here utilise the local flavours of the Galway coast, combining top-notch ingredients with hearty portion sizes and homemade specialties, such as the complimentary brown bread. The breakfasts are filling and varied, and the dinner options are equally satisfying.
positive:
Run by pleasant owners.
The proprietors do everything in their power to make your stay feel welcoming and warm. They're consistently available to help with tourism recommendations, requests for amenity replenishment, or any other issues you might encounter, and are always courteous.
positive:
Proximity to the coast of Galway.
If you're looking to explore one of Ireland's most beautiful coastal areas and all of its history, then it's hard to imagine a better starting point. This property is a short walk from the beaches of Salthill and the historical landmarks that surround it, as well as a number of charming seaside shops.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Dated interior designs.
While there's something to be said for the rustic style of the property's lounge and other interior spaces, not all of its decor has the same level of character. Many of the interior designs, including the wallpaper and some furniture pieces, are in need of an overhaul.
negative:
Minimal soundproofing materials.
The property lacks sufficient soundproofing, especially considering its proximity to the roadway and the parking lot directly outside its walls. You'll be able to hear the majority of the noise that passes through the building.
negative:
Faulty shower fixtures.
Numerous guests noted that the showers have issues with water pressure, temperature, and general spraying functions. Many of the problems with these fixtures seem to stem from more pressing issues, however, such as the plumbing and heating.
