Living large with great views and a washer/dryer
Guests simply could not get over the size of the rooms and suites here. For many, the spaciousness of their accommodation was the top-rated amenity at this hotel. As if well-appointed suites weren't enough, the views - whether coastal or city - were also particularly impressive. Finally, many found the in-room amenities - especially the washer and dryer units - to be a nice touch.
positive:
Consistent quality
Past guests commented that this hotel was once an independent operator. But despite now being owned and operated by Marriott, the overall quality of both the accommodation and the guest experience here appears to be untouched.
positive:
Good location in Fort Lauderdale
This hotel boasts so many in-house amenities that there really isn't much need to stray beyond the lobby. However, for those who do wish to explore the city, many of the main attractions of Fort Lauderdale are just a few blocks away.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Parking is pricey
One of the main complaints here were the daily parking fees, which many found to be exorbitant. However, for those who didn't wish to fork out on these fees, the only alternative was to park at a nearby meter. For a property that seems to have every other amenity well-catered for, this was a disappointment.
negative:
Customer service and booking blips
A number of guests here had issues with booking which, unfortunately, were not always handled as smoothly as they could have been. Some also found the staff a tad lackluster, with many noting that the overall thoughtfulness of the amenities here doesn't necessarily extend to courtesies such as holding the door open for laden guests, etc.
negative:
Close, but not close enough
For some - especially those without a car - this hotel was a bit too far removed from the attractions of Fort Lauderdale.
