The Metro station is quite literally on the doorstep of the hotel, and you can be anywhere in the city in a very short time. Even if you don't take the subway, you'll find plenty of shops and restaurants dotted around the area.
The people at the front desk of this hotel will bend over backwards for you. No job is too big or too small for them, and they are extremely knowledgeable about the local area. This is a great help to all those first-timers that arrive in Istanbul each year.
The housekeeping staff deserve a lot of credit for keeping this place in such amazing condition. There isn't a thing out of place throughout the building, and you'll struggle to find any problems in your room.
This hotel is in great shape and has plenty of things going for it, but it's still not quite at the five-star level. The lobby isn't very inviting, and the pool is closed for most of the year. It's not terrible by any means but not worth its stars.
