Positive Reviews
positive:
Great views across the water
One of the first things guests comment on seems to be the great views across the water to Gdansk's Old Town. The public areas, and many of the rooms, have this view and guests found it a very charming and romantic outlook.
positive:
Very close to the Old Town
While not actually in the Old Town itself, guests still loved that they could reach it in just a few minutes' walk. In fact, many say that they preferred being slightly out of the centre since it was a bit quieter than it would have been otherwise.
positive:
Excellent service from the staff
Perhaps the most commonly delivered compliment is that the staff are a major credit to the hotel. They are described as immensely friendly, and very efficient in carrying out their duties.
Negative Reviews
negative:
No in-room tea or coffee facilities
While it seems these are not common in Polish hotels, several guests definitely missed the tea and coffee making facilities they were used to elsewhere. Hot drinks are available from room service, of course, but they felt it would have been much more convenient, and cheaper, if they could simply make themselves a hot drink every now and then.
negative:
Limited English language TV channels
While this was not a major complaint, it was pointed out that there were very few English language stations available. Guests watching TV should be prepared for some fun by making up their own subtitles to Polish programs as they go along.
negative:
Décor not to everyone's taste
The décor at the hotel is elegant and classical, certainly as far from modern and minimalist as possible. While many guests love this old world charm, some find it just a little oppressive. Guests who like the sleek and modern will not find it here.
