Positive Reviews
positive:
It's all about the location.
This is an idyllic location and the hotel has tapped into the local activities of horse riding, golf, hiking, archery, shooting, spa etc. The facilities now provide a great base from which to explore these and other activities. The result is a really enjoyable break in uniquely attractive surroundings.
positive:
A picturesque setting for events.
It's small wonder that the hotel promotes its business facilities. Certainly, it's the ideal setting, with no distractions, for meetings and conferences. It's perfect too, for weddings with impressive areas for receptions - plus, of course, there are rooms for guests to stay over and enjoy and extended wedding celebrations.
positive:
It's the little touches that count.
You come away from Pocono Manor remembering countless attractions and activities but, probably, topped by the efficiency, kindness and consideration of the staff. There is, for instance, a movie theater and when it's not pre-booked, the staff have been known to throw it open to visiting kids to watch whatever they want!
Negative Reviews
negative:
Small rooms.
Rooms are small and somewhat dated. There's no sound proofing, so the same noise problems occur here, as they do in much cheaper hotels!
negative:
Poor customer service.
Bearing in mind the price; elements of customer service are sadly lacking. There's no valet service and pool areas have gone into a decline with accumulations of rubbish making the area quite unattractive. Flagstones are uneven + quite dangerous and staff need to be pestered to replace poolside towels. Frankly, it's not good enough.
negative:
Forgettable food.
Food is OK-but nothing special; certainly not as special as the prices! Everything could be really outstanding; instead, it's all just average. For many, the break here is a once in a lifetime experience ... because they have no intention of coming back!
