Hotel Parkview Inn and Conference Center (Allentown, USA)

This large hotel complex does boast an on-site restaurant and bar among its list of amenities. This was a convenience appreciated by many, especially those who were just too tired to leave the property in search of their dinner. The vast majority of guests reported that both the service and the quality of food here were good.

This basic hotel boasted surprisingly generously rooms. Given its price point and older appearance, this was an unexpected perk.

Rounding out this hotel’s good points, most guests found the mattresses here to be surprisingly comfortable.

There were consistent reports of bed bugs at this property, which understandably marred the experiences of a high proportion of guests here. Additionally, many were unhappy to find that the rooms – and the carpets in particular – were dirty and grimy. Bathrooms were also a problem area; many noted tubs were in fact grey and grubby with ground-in dirt. Guests also reported odd, unpleasant smells upon entering their rooms.

The room interiors left a lot to be desired; in addition to being dirty, they sported a worn, dated feel that was particularly unappealing. Many were left bemused by the old-school cathode ray TVs featured in each unit.

This property levies a hefty fee for incidentals. Guests – especially those on a budget – were unhappy with the policy and many mentioned that this charge equated to nearly as much as the room rate.
