If you are looking to try some traditional New Zealand cuisine, the hotel's on-site eatery has you covered. The Square Restaurant offers a menu filled with local favourites which guests say are very tasty. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and there is also a bar attached to it.

Accommodations are pleasant and make you feel comfortable during your stay at the hotel according to travellers who add that the rooms are subtly decorated to create a welcoming ambiance. Some of the rooms on the high floors offer nice views of Christchurch as well.

The property is situated in the heart of Christchurch and is within walking distance of a number of the city's sights including Christchurch Casino and Canterbury Museum which are a ten-minute walk away. Visitors note that the central location makes it very easy to get around.

The hotel does have Wi-Fi but it will cost you to access it. A number of visitors were unimpressed with the property's Wi-Fi policy which does not offer complimentary in-room internet access or even free use of the Wi-Fi in common areas.

Some guests note that the way the bathrooms are laid out is less than ideal and some readjustment is needed. The bathroom sink and mirror along with the hairdryer and toiletries are actually situated outside of the bathroom.

The hotel does have on-site parking but it is not included in the price of staying at the property. A number of travellers say the on-site parking fee was quite high and made having a car a hindrance.
