Under new ownership & management. Surrounded by rolling hills, forests and nestled at the foot of the Amahaqwa Mountain, Mountain Park Hotel is an historic Manor House located in the small town of Bulwer on the Southern Drakensberg Heritage Route. The hotel has the grace of an old Tudor homestead with authentic blackwood beams and ceilings. Carefully chosen relics from the past, such as broadswords and battle-axes from England and Spain create the atmosphere while creaking floors and crooked doors have a charm of their own. Several ghostly characters are also said to reside on the property. Set in a large rambling garden the Hotel borders on the Bulwer Biosphere Mountain Nature Reserve which is a host to a large and unusual variety of fauna and flora and also forms part of the Southern Birding Route. The past few years have graced us with snow covered surroundings from late June through July.
