Positive Reviews
positive:
Good location for sightseeing...
Many guests choose the hotel for its fairly central location in the Opera district, and healthy travellers who like to explore on foot can get to many of the city's top sights (including the Palais Garnier and the Louvre) in about 20 minutes. There are many bars and restaurants within a comfortable stroll as well, yet the hotel itself is on a quieter side-street, and most guests are not bothered by neighbourhood noise at night.
positive:
Clean, cosy rooms...
Guests widely describe the rooms as "small" but go on to note that they are also clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with reasonably modern decor and large flat-screen televisions. Some rooms open onto small balconies, and many have found the air conditioner works well and quietly.
positive:
Cheerful, helpful staff...
Many guests have described the front desk staff as friendly, accommodating, and keen to resolve issues when possible, though some of the most common ones, such as room size and climate, are well beyond their control.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Too close for comfort...
Though many guests are prepared to accept room's small size given the hotel's age and location, some just can't get comfortable and wish for more clothes storage as well as greater elbow room. Many are also mystified, and made uncomfortable, by the frosted glass door to the bathroom, as it provides little privacy in already close quarters.
negative:
Crowded breakfast area...
Breakfast is effectively served in the lobby, and guests often comment that the space is insufficient. Several have also expressed disappointment in the overall selection and speed with which items are replenished and tidied.
negative:
Technical difficulties...
Several guests have found the Wi-Fi slow, unreliable, or unusually complicated to access, noting it is necessary to request a new password every 24 hours.
