Hotel Mercure Paris La Défense (Courbevoie, France)

Though the hotel is popular with corporate travellers for its location in La Defense, guests note that it is possible to do a little sightseeing from the location. The La Defense Metro station is about a 15-minute walk if you know the area, but the hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle to the station. From here guests can take a direct route to the Louvre, among many other famous Parisian attractions.

The rooms are generally described as reasonably spacious (for Paris) with comfortable beds, simple furnishings, and all the useful amenities for a business traveller: a work desk, safe, and decently speedy Wi-Fi.  Some guests can see the Eiffel Tower from their rooms.

With a few exceptions, the reception and restaurant staff are generally considered very pleasant, helpful, and attentive. The breakfast buffet also earns many positive reviews for its selection and overall quality. More than a few guests are particularly pleased with the croissants.

Though the shuttle service to the metro station works well for most travellers in the daytime, travellers who return to the station after dark are required to wait in a poorly lit, deserted area, and many have found the experience unnerving.

Several guests have noted that the rooms are beginning to date as well as show some wear and tear. A few have also been frustrated by too few electrical outlets in the rooms.

Several guests have noted that the hotel is popular with coach tours, and there are two breakfast areas in order to accommodate the large groups. However, several guests have experienced confusion related to the breakfast, and both areas are uncomfortably crowded at times.
