Guests wanting to pamper themselves chose to spend their free time at the on-site spa which offers a wide range of specialist treatments. During finer weather, the outdoor pool proved popular with those who wanted to cool down or soak up the rays on the loungers. Art lovers were also in their element as they could admire numerous exhibits at the on-site gallery.

The hotel is within walking distance of many of the town's attractions such as the Forsyth Park which is just across the road from the mansion. Guests who didn't want to dine on the premises were pleased to find plenty of cafes and restaurants in close vicinity to the hotel.

The rooms have been described as stylishly decorated with quality furniture and upholstery. Many said that the size of the rooms exceeded their expectations and were equally impressed with the spacious and well-presented bathrooms featuring deep soaking tubs and separate walk-in showers.

Some of the guests said that their rooms felt quite dark and dreary due to the very dim lighting. Those who wanted to apply make-up in the bathrooms also objected to the poor lighting and said that they would have preferred higher voltage bulbs.

The outdoor pool was described as being on the small side with many guests stating that it was adequate for a dip bit not for swimming. Some also objected to the fact that the water wasn't warm enough.

Guests who used the minibars in their rooms objected to the fact that the items were not restocked on a regular basis whilst others also mentioned that the complimentary bottles of water were also not replenished daily.
