The setting is idyllic and very relaxing. The shop and cafe are both great value - and they spare that trip of a few miles to neighbouring competitors. The gardens are kept in pristine condition and so is the pool.
It's family friendly - but where are the screeching kids? It's all very quiet and peaceful and Barron Gorge is very nearby. The town centre is about 20 minutes away and from there, it's easy to get to Kuranda, Port Douglas and other places of interest. There are some good restaurants in the vicinity ... and some even provide courtesy bus transport..
Accommodation is clean and fresh. The kitchenette is good, beds are comfy and bed linen, etc; is spotlessly clean. There's no traffic noise and it's a delight to sit outside and listen to - absolutely nothing! The members of staff are very friendly and helpful.
Accommodation is quite close together and rather cramped. Expected more space for the price which, comparatively, is quite expensive. The pool is good though and those piping hot showers do much to make you forget any mini-moans.
The place is pet-friendly but dogs can only fulfill their essential functions outside the confines of the property. *Try telling the dog that!
It's a bit far out of town - but that's a big part of the appeal. You can easily get to town, though - if that floats your boat - via service buses and shuttle transport. It's certainly a slower pace of life here, with folk seeming to wander around aimlessly and in some sort of slow motion. Worryingly strange.
