Positive Reviews
positive:
Exceptional location
Guests simply loved the hotel’s location. It was typically one of the first things mentioned in reviews. It is right off the interstate and as good as on the Baylor campus, and guests found it to be incredibly convenient and easy to get around.
positive:
Pleasant and accommodating staff
It was very hard indeed to find a harsh word written about the hotel’s staff. Guests were overwhelmingly happy with the service they rendered, saying that they were especially good at dealing with circumstances that didn’t quite fit neatly into a specific category.
positive:
Exceptionally good value
Guests were overwhelming happy with the value for money they received. They felt they paid a very reasonable rate for a clean room in a simply fantastic location.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Problems with room assignments
While it didn’t seem to happen often, a couple of guests mentioned that the hotel could not provide them with the room that they had booked, and received confirmation for, long before. While the practice of reassigning already booked rooms for operational reasons is relatively common practice, it caused a great deal of unhappiness among the guests.
negative:
Décor looking very dated
While guests generally conceded that the room rates reflected this, they didn’t particularly like the fact that the décor throughout the hotel looked very dated. It wasn’t that they felt it affected function at all, but they did think that the hotel would soon have to be renovated in order to remain competitive.
negative:
Pool over chlorinated
While it is notoriously difficult for public pools to get the balance just right, it was reported that the hotel uses a great deal of chlorine. It was felt that there was too much chlorine in the water and this did prevent some guests from actually using the pool.
