Positive Reviews
positive:
Easy access to the casino
While it is not really nearby, several guests said that they found the hotel a convenient spot for their trips to the Kickapoo Casino, which is about nine miles south of Eagle Pass. They reckoned that the hotel's location on the eastern edge of town made the ride don to the casino easier than if they had been in the center.
positive:
Good Wi-Fi
Though not often mentioned, since it's something people tend to take for granted, a couple of guests did say that they found the hotel's Wi-Fi system to be pretty good. It was said to be both reliable, and fast enough for normal purposes.
positive:
Friendly staff
While guests didn't say they were the best hotel staff they had ever encountered, most felt that they were very friendly and carried out their duties in a good spirit.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rooms very poorly soundproofed
A couple of guests mentioned that the rooms were exceptionally poorly soundproofed. While there were not many complaints about noise from outside, guests said they could hear the sounds from adjacent rooms almost as clearly as if they had been generated in their own room.
negative:
Very unattractive surroundings
While this may be more of an indictment of the town itself, rather than just the hotel, some felt the surroundings really weren't very attractive. They considered the area a bit gritty and grimy and not the sort of pace one would really want to vacation.
negative:
Broken odds and ends
Several guests went through a list of small maintenance issues in their rooms that had not been corrected. Things like toilets running or malfunctioning air conditioning. They felt that, if there was a maintenance department at all, they were clearly not doing a very good job keeping the rooms in a reasonable shape.
