Positive Reviews
positive:
Very pet-friendly environment
While, surprisingly, not mentioned that often, those traveling with their pets were clearly happy with the hotel. The whole La Quinta Group has exceptionally pet-friendly policies, and guests appreciated that their pets were not just tolerated by the hotel, but actively welcomed.
positive:
Convenient location
The hotel is quite central, with both the town center and university being very nearby. This meant that guests had more amenities and dining options nearby than would typically be the case for this type of hotel.
positive:
Good value for money
While there were some contrary opinions, mostly resulting from surge-pricing during big events, most guests were very satisfied with their room-rate. They felt they had received decent accommodation in a great position.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Problems with hot water
Going by guest comments, it seems that the hotel might use a timer on its hot water tanks, resulting in no hot water being available at certain times of day, or rather night. While most people would not be showering at this time, this was cold comfort for the few who had to endure a cold shower first thing in the morning.
negative:
Problems with key cards
While it is not uncommon for there to be one or two problems with these cards at any hotel, it seems that there may be a deeper problem at this hotel. A number of guests reported that their cards simply stopped working, and that they had to go to reception to have them reprogrammed. It was very frustrating.
negative:
In need of a full renovation
Quite a number of guests felt that the hotel was looking a bit worse for wear. There were chips here, dings there and it seemed worn and faded. They thought that the hotel would soon need a complete overhaul if it was to remain competitive and relevant.
