Positive Reviews
positive:
Very convenient location
While some did worry a bit about the immediate neighborhood, most felt the location was very convenient. Even if their business wasn't in the southwest of the city, the proximity of the I-69 meant that they could quickly access Houston's excellent freeways and be at their destination in no time.
positive:
Coffee and juice available 24/7
It seems that the hotel maintains a self service coffee and juice bar near reception, and that guest can pour themselves a drink around the clock. This gesture really seems to have gone a long way with the guests, who enjoyed being able to get their caffeine or healthy when passing by.
positive:
Decent value
While guests certainly were not shy to list the issues they found with the hotel, many went on to add that they found their room-rate to be especially low for the Houston area and the value proposition excellent.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Incessant yapping
The La Quinta Group hotels are usually exceptionally pet-friendly. Pet owners loved this fact, of course, but some others felt that it resulted in a number of downsides. One of these was that there were, more often than not, dogs yapping in chorus in various parts of the building.
negative:
Significant cleanliness issues
While housekeeping did also receive some praise, most guests seemed at least a little unhappy with the cleanliness of their rooms, both on check-in and after the daily housekeeping rounds. It seems that standards may be inconsistently applied, with cleanliness dependent on the luck of the draw.
negative:
Some issues with staff attitude
While not affecting every staff member there were a significant number of complaints relating to staff with rude and hostile attitudes. They really seemed to have given some guests a very poor impression of the hotel.
