Positive Reviews
positive:
Exceptionally comfortable beds
Despite how difficult it is for a hotel to select a mattress with genuinely broad appeal, simply because of different tastes, it seems that this one has come pretty close. There were very few complaints indeed, and many guests said, in effect, that it was the most comfortable mattress they had ever slept on.
positive:
Friendly and accommodating staff
Whatever other small problems guests may have had at the hotel, it does not seem like staff service level was one of them. Again and again guests mentioned that the staff were a delight to deal with and always tried their very best to help their guests out.
positive:
Close to dining and amenities
Only breakfast is offered at the hotel, but guests did not feel they had to travel very far to dine well for the other two meals. They mentioned that there were a number of good, mostly chain, restaurants in the immediate vicinity.
Negative Reviews
negative:
No fridges in some rooms
While the superior rooms do have fridges and microwaves, the standard rooms lack these amenities. Several guests really seemed to have missed them, especially the fridge. They would definitely have appreciated having somewhere to keep their cold beverages cold.
negative:
Could do with a makeover
Quite a few guests pointed out that the hotel was looking a bit drab. It was said that it had clearly been some time since it had been remodeled. Guests believed the décor and furniture would soon need to be updated in order for the hotel to remain relevant.
negative:
Problems with mold and damp
A number of guests, when first entering their room, felt it was a bit damp. Together with some evidence of mold, they were concerned that there might be some health issues that they needed to take into account.
