Hotel Il Monastero Collection (Rome, Italy)

The privileged position of Circo Massimo Exclusive Suite makes possible the total participation in the atmosphere of Ancient Rome; in front of the Hotel’s entrance there is the Circo Massimo while at the back there is the Archaeological Area of the Palatino. Piazza Venezia, the Aventino, the Bocca della Verità, the Sinagoga, the Isola Tiberina, the Colosseo; everything is walking distance. The building is in the Palatino and exactly is a part of the Orti Farnesiani. The 7th century façade had the function to hide a farmhouse, like scenery. On its top we find the ovals and the famous “Hand of Cicerone”. After the property went to a congregation of Padri Benedettini Olivetani constituted in 1313 in Monte Oliveto Maggiore and so became a monastery and a part of the church of Santa Anastasia.
